Effect of Adrenal Glands on Fat Burning

Improper exercise, work stress, physical injury, social stress, family stress and other everyday stresses – the body does not care how the stress is induced. It will treat all of them the same. A large part of that treatment is the activation of the Adrenal Glands.

In a healthy body the Adrenal glands help with fighting inflammation, disease and mineral imbalance in an overall effort to maintain a healthy body. However, all of these are a form of stress that the body naturally deals with.

Overly stressed bodies can cause the adrenal glands to release an excess amount of adrenalin in a desperate attempt to combat the overwhelming stress the body is experiencing. This adrenalin, which is a chemical messenger, tells the body to do something in response to the stresses it is encountering.

Unfortunately for many, the response is the release of Cortisol, which is also a chemical messenger. Cortisol tells the body to release sugar for use in quick bursts of energy. When this sugar is not used it is stored in the body as fat. This sugar also tends to come from the muscles in the legs, butt and arms. This is the main reason Adrenal Body Type individuals tend to have larger torsos paired with thinner limbs.

In order to fight the adverse effects of excessive amounts of adrenalin and reverse the changes that have occurred to your body if you are an Adrenal Body Type you need to go on a healthy diet and exercise program.
