Kreamy Kale Recipe… awesome for liver enhancement!

The liver enhancement portion of the diet is probably the toughest due to the fact that you are looking for taste and everything you are eating doesn’t seem to have any! Its ok, you’re normal. Its just that your tastebuds are so used to the sugar, that when you switch to a diet that is lacking sugar, it may not be as emotionally fulfilling. Here is a tasty recipe that got me through it. Make sure you consult your trainer before using this recipe!

Stressed out? Try Oils!

July 24th, 2011  |  by Karim Steward  |  Published in General

Got Stress? Try oils!

There are many ways to reduce stress. One commonly overlooked method is to use unrefined organic oils.

Most people in the United States are infected by yeast. Yeast is a fungus that breaks down your body’s immune system and keeps you overweight and unhealthy. Yeast feeds off of sugar, which is what most people eat too much of.

Try using organic oils such as coconut oil or olive oil when you cook or with your salads. Inflammation, which is another word for swelling, happens when your digestive system is not able to build itself properly. Organic unrefined oils such as those listed above fight inflammation which will reduce the stress on your body!

Refined seed and vegetable oils, such as corn, soy, safflower, and sunflower oil are overly processed and often rancid. These rancid oils will cause stress on your body.  When cooking, always use coconut oil or fat from a pastured, grass-fed animal. These fats, are most stable to heat and have their own health benefits.

The Food that cleans your body of Pesticides

July 24th, 2011  |  by Karim Steward  |  Published in Articles

Kimchi…
The Food that rids your body of pesticides

There are 2 types of bacteria: Bacteria that will hurt you, and bacteria that willkimchi  make you stronger. In order to boost your immune system, it is important to eat many foods that are rich in beneficial bacteria. Fermented foods (foods that are allowed to sit in a vinegar solution for a long period of time) are full of beneficial bacteria. Supplementing your diet with these types of foods will improve your digestive system and your immune system.

Kimchi is one such fermented food. Kimchi is a korean side dish that is made with cabbage and other vegetables. When kimchi is made, an acid called lactic acid is created during the fermentation. This acid contains a bacteria that may help your body break down pesticides.

Our food and water are extremely polluted. Farmers use chemicals to make food grow bigger and faster. These chemicals, which are called pesticides end up in our water supply. Not only do we eat a heaping serving of pesticides every time we eat, we also drink it on a daily basis in our water. These pesticides can cause nausea, dizziness, difficulty breathing, and even death.

This is why it is important to eat natural organic foods that clean your body. Studies show that Kimchi is one such food. You can find kimchi in your local organic market such as Whole Foods or Moms.
